What is it?

MyBnk-in-a-Box provides an accessible place to save regularly and interest free loans to set up enterprises.

It’s the first ever FSA approved independent online and in-school banking scheme. Run throughout the year, the bank embeds finance and enterprise learning, with structured incentivized Savings and Loans Challenges.

The bank is run by trained MyBnkers (students) with support from our staff and Mentors (teachers). Open Days take place weekly and we facilitate MyBnker Team Meetings.

MyBnkers track all accounts online and customers can log in to check their balance and set saving goals.

Savings Accounts:

Allow students to save small amounts regularly, instilling good saving habits.

Offer students savings incentives for reaching milestones and personal goals.

Give access to advice on managing their money through MyBnker Savings Managers and the MyBnk Z-card that all savers receive

Loans Accounts:

Provide small interest free loans for young people to set up enterprises.

Support the application process that creates a mini business plan and budget. This is assessed by MyBnker Loan Managers.

Offer advice on turning their ideas into a reality through Loans Managers and the MyBnk Borrower’s Booklets that all budding entrepreneurs receive.

The Savings Challenge:

A time bound challenge that targets a selected year group and gives them the opportunity to win prizes based on the frequency of their bank visits.

Regular savers have a better chance of winning the Savings Challenge prizes including an ipod!

The Loans Challenge:

An entire year group workshop where students work in teams to apply for an enterprise loan.

Interest-free loans of up to £40 are provided by MyBnk for the best ideas (up to 7 interest-free loans can be approved).

A follow up workshop for successful applicants helps turn their ideas into reality.

A marketplace agreed with the school where students compete in selling their idea to a genuine audience
