Format: 30 minute assembly
Target group: Junior school, secondary school and college students, with content tailored as appropriate
Group size: Up to 200 young people
Through audience participation, props and projector visuals, young people are introduced to the topics of:
- Why to bother saving
- What to save for (needs v. wants, short term v. long term goals)
- Tips for saving
- Shopping for a high street bank that suits your needs
- What banks do with your money (including bank ethical policies)
Tracking the spending habits of a volunteer ‘savvy saver’ and a ‘big spender’, students come away with:
- A saving goal
- A personal tip for saving
- What they might want from a bank
The Savvy Saver Assembly is an ideal way to kick start saving as part of a MyBnk-in-a- Box branch, or as an independent session. It can be delivered to young people from junior schools (years 5 & 6), secondary schools and colleges (content detail is tailored for each group).
