Regional Education Officer - North West

The Role

We are looking for an energetic and engaging Education Officer with a genuine interest in social change, education and the empowerment of young people.

You will organise and deliver MyBnk’s programmes in youth organisations, college’s and schools across Manchester, Merseyside & Yorkshire. Currently in the North West, we predominantly work with employability and vulnerable groups of young adults aged 16 – 25. We supplement this with work in primary and secondary schools. You will expand MyBnk’s network new youth organisations & services. You will be part of a wider group of national trainers based in London, South, North West & Scotland and regularly interact with teams within the organisation. Our current NW team consists of our Delivery Director, one other Regional Education Officer and three freelance trainers.

Fundraising Officer – Corporate Partnerships

The Role

As Fundraising Officer you will:

Support and manage your partnership portfolio by supporting existing partnerships, delivering results, and identifying new opportunities.

Generate additional revenue by maintaining and building these relationships and positioning MyBnk for continuation/additional funding.

Leverage your knowledge to research, prospect and build new relationships across a range of income streams; predominately with corporate donors, and trusts and foundations, but possibly including statutory bodies.

Manage multiple deadlines for reporting within existing funding agreements and support new business proposals when required.

Freelance Trainer - East of Scotland

Three quarters of our work is with young adults most in need.

The Role

We are looking for an energetic and engaging individual with a genuine interest in social change, education and the empowerment of young people.

You will be delivering MyBnk programmes to primarily young adults aged 16 – 25 in youth organisations across the East of Scotland. In so doing it is expected that you will:

Deliver MyBnk financial education programmes to a diverse range of young people aged 16-25 in youth across the East of Scotland. Effectively engaging learners with a style that is clear, concise, energetic and relevant.

Deliver MyBnk programmes to a high standard, meeting the MyBnk quality standards and following the MyBnk education ethos.

Commit to become an expert in finance education by having excellent subject knowledge and continuing your professional development.

Mark accredited work booklets.

Person Specification

You must:
Have a creative style of delivery, and ability to ‘wow’ young people, taking them on a memorable learning journey. Have a good grasp on popular and youth culture.

Have a minimum of two years’ experience delivering participatory learning programmes to young people. Be confident in engaging young people you’re meeting for the first time within different settings including mainstream classrooms, community centres, alternative education organisations (e.g. leaving care teams).

Have a Level 3 AET, PTLLS or equivalent experience.

Be able to engage young people you are meeting for the first time within different settings including mainstream classrooms, community centres, alternative education organisations (e.g. Pupil Referral Units, YMCAs).

The team currently raises over £2.5m through multi-year strategic partnerships. 2022/23 will see MyBnk continue to grow, as we continue to strengthen our national team and deliver more expert-led financial education through our award-winning programmes. This summer MyBnk will launch its Financial Freedom campaign that will aim to help 250,000 young people across the UK over the next four years.

The Senior Development Manager will lead new income generation through securing new significant partnerships, launching a new major donor programme and maximising commercial opportunities. An example of the new partnership opportunities includes employee engagement (e.g., charity of the year, corporate volunteering), cause-related marketing activities, strategic partnerships, and brand/media partnership opportunities among others.

Supporting the Senior Fundraising Manager and the Business & Engagement Director you will help achieve an overall income target of £3.5m next financial year.

Your first-hand experience of charity fundraising and partnership engagement will enable you to take direct responsibility for several accounts with your own fundraising goals.

MyBnk Freelance Trainer - North West

We conduct significant research studies at scale using quantitative and qualitative methods to continuously improve our work. Opportunities

We know volunteers add ‘real world’ value to our programmes.

Whether it is helping a young person budget for the first time, sharing tips and tricks or mistakes with managing money, or giving them an insight into a career path, our young people gain immensely from volunteers.

MyBnk offers classroom-based volunteering opportunities directly through existing funder partnerships. Unfortunately, at present, we are unable to accommodate ad-hoc requests from individuals.

Recently we have hosted people from MUFG Bank, Old Mutual Wealth UK, Aberdeen Standard Investments, Octopus Group, and BNY Mellon.

Opportunities

MyBnk needs a strong back office to support our vital work on the frontline.

We welcome volunteers from a range of professions and backgrounds to apply their skillsets and support us on projects where we may lack resources. This could involve, for example, help with our IT,  systems, data analysis, communications or strategic planning.
