MyBnk has honoured a long serving Young Ambassador for supporting quality financial education for her peers.

14-year-old Walthamstow Schools for Girls student Mominah has volunteered with MyBnk for several years, helping to shape programme content and speaking at national conferences.

We have developed a whole-school approach to increasing students’ financial capability. All Walthamstow students receive MyBnk sessions in personal, public and student finance and play an important role in developing our curriculum.

Year 9 pupils opened a bank for the school.

The Year 10 pupil is one of two Young Ambassadors selected to promote our work and lead financial education initiatives within the school. In the past this has included a youth banking scheme and activities for the Money and Pension Service’s Talk Money Week.

Mominah was presented with her award for services to financial education and a cheque for £250 by our CEO Guy Rigden and Young Trustee Yasmin Drakes. Her win was also featured in the East London and West Essex Guardian.
